Naomi is at the Hospital!

by Slack, on August 20th, 2001

Well, Naomi went to the hospital today, and it looks like this might be it! For those who are unaware, she is not dying, rather she is having a baby girl here soon. Who knows, at the time of this writing she may have already delivered.

Both her and Rey are very excited about the new arrival, and they both seem excited to rent our old house out. It is 4 bedrooms, and they sure can use it now. :)

We Got the Keys!

by Slack, on August 20th, 2001

Well, we got the keys to our new house this afternoon. I’ve spent most of the afternoon moving over all the little crap, and supplies for dressing the place up. I tested the pool water, and while we are a bit low on chlorine, it is good to swim in! I can’t wait.

As you read above, Heidi is with her sister at the hospital right now. She may be going into labor any moment! One more addition to the family! At any rate, she hasn’t been able to enjoy the new house yet. I am hoping we will get a chance to take a swim soon!

I talked with our neighbors about the move. Everyone of them I talk to gives me that perplexed, “Why are you moving two houses down?” look. It will be nice to move next to our new neighbors. Much better than the current neighbors we have on the side of us. Ugh…

Both the Vette and the Jag now have a nice garage to rest in while we work on restoring them, and we don’t have to worry about the weather getting to them. It’s going to be so nice! Hopefully we will be in there by the end of the week!

Tell Microsoft to “Stick it up their arse!”

by Slack, on August 19th, 2001

FINALLY! I’m able to purge all the Microsoft bullshit software off my workstation without sacrificing productivity! Let me tell ya, it sure feels great! Not only did I finally remove the last remaining vestige (IE) off of my machine, but I found a BETTER replacement. It was quite depressing to me for a long time there to know that there was nothing better for browsing the web. Well, I finally found a solution! Woo hoo! Now if we all would do this, we could maybe make a dent in the behemoth!

Now, the real trick will be to do the same thing on my PCs… Ugh… Don’t see that happening anytime soon. It’s really too bad. But, at least the Mac is free!

Did I mention that Bill Gates is satan?

Life Ain’t So Bad

by Slack, on August 19th, 2001

Well, for once in a long time I feel like things are beginning to get under control. This weekend, so far, has been quite restful. This is a welcome change from recent events past. We closed on our new house last week finally. So, next weekend should be quite grand no matter what is thrown at us during.

So, with any luck, this trend may continue. Heck, who knows, maybe I can even feel good enough to quit smoking soon! ha! Imagine that!

Holy Crap! Heidi is Here!

by Slack, on August 11th, 2001

So! Guess what! Heidi made it from Iowa to Arizona in 26 hours. They drove straight through. If you ask me, she should get her head shrinked. It totally blows the point of a road trip. But, at any rate, I am so glad to see her. Now I can talk to someone real instead of just the walls. Don’t let me get started on the damn pets!

I don’t know sometimes…

Made it to Show Low, Again.

by Slack, on August 11th, 2001

Well, I had a nice drive for most of the part. Until I made it to just before Salt River Canyon when I met one of “those guys.” You know the kind. They drive so slow it makes it easy to justify road rage. This asshole in a white ford F-150 heading for Show Low decides it would be funny to speed up from 60mph everytime I try to pass him. He would hold my speed all the way up to 85mph! What an asshole. Some people should be hunted.

But, all in all, I am glad to be back in Show Low. There is always no stress up here, and as long as that is the case, I will keep coming up here every chance I get.
