The New House

by Slack, on September 29th, 2001

Our new house is coming along. We finally got the computer room started thanks to the desk being completed. The workshop is the next big project as it is in shambles. Need to do some organizing and packing things up for long term storage.

So far the only issue we are having is the damn dishwasher. Seems the owners before us tiled in over the previous flooring. At any rate, the tile is of such a height that the dishwasher cannot be removed to be serviced. There’s always some little thing you don’t bargain for. Ugh…

Ginger…

by Slack, on September 29th, 2001

Well, we finally gave Ginger away. The fighting just got worse and worse and we couldn’t get them to stop.

We found a nice couple who were more than a perfect match for Ginger’s high energy and need for CONSTANT attention. I visited the three of them a few days back and they were all doing fine.

Kahlua is still a little sad at seeing her sister go, but she is getting better and better each day. For awhile she wouldn’t hardly eat, and mope around the house all day (not much different from me). Now, we are all getting along great. Kahlua is perking up and settling into the new arrangement. She is happy to get to play with all her toys without Ginger stealing them. :)

Here We Are Back in DC

by Slack, on September 10th, 2001

Heidi and I made it back to DC. I’m here on training for work, and Heidi is here to see the sights and keep me company. We had a pretty uneventful trip over here, and I hope coming back will be equally easy. However, I have discovered that I really dislike Delta Airlines. Their seats have no room… Ugh…

Yesterday I found out that the company I work for closed down Six Flags for a private party. So we got to go and have free beer, free food, and free rides (no lines). That was a nice surprise.

Christine stopped by last night and Heidi, myself, Joel, Joyce, and her went to dinner at Pizzaria Uno. If you get the chance to eat here, I would highly reccommend it. It was nice visiting with someone I hadn’t seen in almost 8 years.

Today, Heidi and I are going to take a drive down to Woodbridge, where I used to live when I was up here. Should be interesting. Navigating this area isn’t as frustrating as I once remembered, which is quite nice.
