Vacation Is Nice…

by Slack, on July 29th, 2002

Well, this short vacation of mine has been quite enjoyable. Nothing like cutting the digital ties of work and letting loose. I took Monday off (thank god), so I can recoup and take a short breather before getting back into the swing.

Paintball was a blast! I got a good couple welts and a few bruises, but that’s just part of the game. I got a good shot on a guy who was attacking one of my teammates. I hit him in the side of the head at 6 feet. Makes you realize just how handy those masks are. I felt so bad for this kid who got nailed at about 4 to 5 feet. The paintball left a nice wound on him, and the scary part was that where he was shot there was a hole in his shirt! OUCH! That just HAD to hurt. He was quite the chubby lumpkin so he had plent of padding. But still! Damn!

Had a nice visit tonight with Forrest, Shirley, David, Shauna, Naomi, and Rey for a barbecue. It was a beautiful night, and there was plenty of good food. That’s what life is about, I tell ya!

I Love The Smell of Paintball in the Morning!

by Slack, on July 28th, 2002

Here we are again folks, heading for Desert Fox for another fun-filled morning of paintball. There is nothing in the world like shooting people, I tell ya. Now, I’m not a psycho militia freako guy, I just like the idea of playing war games against human competitors.

This game really made me realize just how out of shape I am. The last game, it took me a friggin week to recover. Things sure are different now than they were in high-school. Well, it is good excercise and will help me get rid of my beer-belly.

Wish me luck on the field of human conflict! Here we go!

The New Journal…

by Slack, on July 28th, 2002

Thanks to my bud Charles, I found GreyMatter – a great new logging system. Since we’ve now changed the Journal to a new system, the old entries don’t appear in the new system. However, there is a link at the bottom of the page to the old system’s entries. You shouldn’t notice much of a change with this new system as it is primarily backend type stuff making it easier for us to update the journal. More to come later. :)
