A real-time account of life among the Earthlings…

What a Strange Sensation…

by Slack, on September 12th, 2002

So, after today’s events Heidi and I find ourselves with a very odd feeling about us. Hard to explain this one. All of a sudden the sun seems brighter, and the air seems fresher. Your lips press together and find themselves curling up toward your ears. How odd. Some people I’ve asked about this claim this is a feeling known as ‘hope’… How odd… :)

Well, two bits of good news today. First, Heidi went for her blood test to see if all was well with our little embryos. At this stage you can’t tell how the ‘embryos’ are doing, but we did find that their little home is in perfect condition. :) That’s great news. The stage is set, so to speak.

On the other front, I got a call today from a publishing company in the mountains. These would be the same mountains that Heidi and I dream of living in. The guy on the other end of the line says to me, ‘So, we are looking to take our operation online. You would need to be well versed in HTML programming since we are going to the web. Our facility runs on Macintosh computers 100%. We have a guy down south who fixes them when I can’t figure it out, so we’d also need someone who could run Macintosh computers and keep them going. Oh, it also might call for a bit of design work. You know, taking photos and bringing them into Photoshop in order to prep them for the web and/or print using Quark. Does any of this scare you?’ Is was all I could do not to jump out of my skin and give the guy a big hug through the phone. I told him this sounds like a dream! So, I will be meeting with him on the 23rd to discuss the job. Wish me luck folks! :) OH, I almost forgot. The massive corporate giant I work for now has told me to interview for a supervisor position tomorrow. :) So, there are two very nice possibilities on the horizon.
