Ever think too hard and pop a lobe?
by Slack, on February 2nd, 2003
…Well, I think that’s exactly what I did last night. If you know me, you know that while I’m a pretty easy goin’ calm fellow, I can never get the voices in my head to just shut up for two seconds! lol. Well, not really voices per se… Well… So, anyway I think I reached a boiling point (again) last night. Thank god I had my loving wife and my scotch to help me through it. Heidi is so understanding and helpful with me and my mental breakdowns… I don’t think I’ve been in a groove for years now. It always seems that we are running around like chickens with our heads lopped off. Anyhow, I feel I’ve got a reasonable grasp for the moment, so that’s good.
Business is SLOW. That’s probably good, but still you never want to see business slow down. We just got some new products, and will be putting them on the site soon. Whoopie.
I’m on day 14 of being a non-smoker. I’m enjoying not waking up in the middle of the night having an asthma attack… Yes, I have asthma. Pretty stupid to smoke, eh? Well, for the record smoking was here first! It’s the asthma that should have to leave! Been smoking 15 years! Can you believe that crap! That’s over half of my life. Holy schnikies! Anyhoo, this is the end of my “second week” which is reported to be more difficult than average, and I confirm it indeed is. The next milestone is the second month, which, you guessed it, is reported to be tougher than average (the last time I quit (for 3 months) it was). I’m using the patch, and boy is my skin ever irritated. Vile things.
So, that’s the news, and I’m outa here.
Way to go Allen!! Hang right in there
Am so very proud of you, Hon. And, I know that so’s your Dad. Please stick to the program…it is very difficult, am sure, but you can do it! Love you a big 100!!
Hey Slack,
I’ve been going 32 days strong on not smoking. I am using the patch as well, and lemme tell ya, my arm is raw as hell. I am running out of places to put it. I cannot wait until this thing is off me.
I have four more weeks to go (on the patch 8 week program).
Just letting you know I feel your pain, and smoked for 17 years myself.
Scott :)
