Slack’s Place

A real-time account of life among the Earthlings…

Camping, etc.

by Slack, on June 9th, 2003

So, over my last weekend Heidi and I went camping. We went to Mt. Graham, and it was great fun. There were damn fire restrictions because we live in the friggin desert, but that’s just something you have to deal with. We found a campsite where they were allowed, and it was deserted so it’s all good. As we drove in, there was this big sign that read, “HIGH BEAR ACTIVITY IN THE AREA…” Anyone who knows me, knows how much that sign made me feel oh so comfortable. I guess there’s a price to everything. We only ended up staying one night, since we forgot pillows (they’re important to us), and it was friggin 40F at night. To us desert dwellers that is a bit nippy, and we were not as prepared as we would have liked to be. All in all, a damn good trip that did wonders for my sanity.

In other news, life seems a tad more upbeat lately. Don’t know why, don’t care to find out why. I’m just going to enjoy it and hope it gets better. We finally got nightstands for our bedroom, and soon we’ll have rocks and trees in our backyard! Yay! Also, my shipment from Tiger Direct should be in soon. Computer upgrades rule my world. ;)
