Life Is Good?!

by Slack, on July 6th, 2003

Yep, that’s right. Life feels good… I’ll say it again: LIFE IS GOOD! Yeah, I can hardly believe I feel this way. Start your stop watches — we’ll see how long this euphoria lasts. Anyway, what makes me say that you wonder? Well, best I can figure, it’s mainly the following:

* I got a new computer!!! Well, technically two new computers! Sure, it was absolute HELL putting the machines together, but in the end I’m quite happy. The AMD chip and mobo I originally ordered for my workstation was bad. I’m awaiting the replacement from Tiger Direct soon… I don’t think I will be using them EVER again. Rat bastards. I’m sooooo not impressed. So, my configuration now includes 4 machines: Pentium Celeron 1.8Ghz running Gentoo for my workstation, Pentium 4 2.4Ghz running Windoze XP for my gaming station, Apple G4 450Mhz (I forget the speed to be honest) running OSX Jaguar for my business workstation, and a Pentium 2 400Mhz running Gentoo for my server. Near future plans include getting rid of the Apple machines we have. I know, I know. Why do such a thing? Well, because they are so damn expensive to upgrade. I just can’t justify it. I wish Apple would give us OSX for Intel based machines…

* I played a first-person shooter on the internet. It’s been so long since I’ve gamed! Let me tell ya. I SUCK! But, I will get back up there in the amateur cyber-athelete category in no time. Did you know, they have tournaments now? I mean to say tournaments where you compete and win actual CASH. Not chump change either! My, my, my, how much I’ve missed.

* This weekend at Spacely has been unusually quiet. Not to say there’s nothing to do, but I am not getting overwhelmed as per usual. So, either it has calmed down, or I am more adept at my job these days. ;) (I think it is calmed down.)

* PayPal.com wrote us about our little side business. They want to feature us on their site later this year. :) That is some WAY COOL news for us! This should bring us at LEAST 1000+ hits a day. This will be a much needed rush for our little business. Time to fill the stock room!

* Our tennants at the rental are excited about buying the house! That’s great news for us, as we get to take two mortgages off of our books. :) Good for them because we gave them a hell of a deal. Win-win situations always give me warm fuzzies. :)

So, there you have it. Those are some of the new reasons I am happy at the moment. Till next time.

Happy 4th of July!

Merry Independence Day, kids. Hope everyone had fun and drank much to celebrate our great country’s independence. As for us, we had family over and just had your run-of-the-mill BBQ. Hamburgers, hot dogs and other various dishes. One of my favorite: Gooey-Cake was one of the desserts. :) Thanks Mom!

In other news, Heidi and I have begun try #2 for IVF. Heidi had the first transfer done on Thursday. So, technically, she’s pregnant with quadruplets. Though, we’ll have to see in two weeks how many take. Thanks to the surgery she had recently, we have a much better chance to get pregnant this time. That would be VERY encouraging if I didn’t know the chances to conceive for “normal” couples. Even if you are 100% normal, it’s something like a 25% chance to conceive. Well, what can you do? We’ll just let nature take its course (with a lot of help from science). Wish us luck. Watch us have quadruplets….

Looks like we’re going to sell the rental house to on of our tennants. As much as I hate to see the revenue stream dry up, it will be nice to have it off of our books… Well, considering, that the revenue it generated went towards paying two mortgages, and we saw NONE of it. :) Will be nice to have the mortgages off our books.

Word on the street says that a local gun range is up for sale. :) Man, did that make my eyes perk up. Can you imagine owning a gun range!? How perfect (for me) would that be! I could run the gun range and also run web hosting out of the same facility! hahaha That would be a dream come true!

Well, enough random banter. That’s the news, and I’m outa here.
