What’s New?

by Slack, on August 31st, 2003

Let’s see, been pretty busy lately. So what’s new? By far the most exciting news is we got to see our babies move!!! That was the most amazing thing I’ve seen to date yet. The doc looked at em via ultra sound, and commented, “WOW! They’re tall!” LOL! See? It’s already starting. I’m making those “Only-A-Parent-Thinks-They’re-Funny-Jokes.” I promise I will keep those in check. I already do bad enough with my geek jokes. :)

In other news, it’s hotter than SHIT in this anal polyp of a town. Is there another place where you have to drive with oven mits? I swear I got a first degree burn from the steering wheel in my car. And don’t even try to hold spare change you keep in your car. I’ve got George Washington emblazoned onto my palm after ordering a hamburger today! Oh, did I mention? I hate this fucking town.

Everything else is prety standard in our little world. Business is starting to pickup for the shopping season. Which is a good thing, because we can stock up on diapers. Work is still work: not bad, not heaven either. I’m still a non-smoker. I think I’ve got this thing licked this time. It’s just like this time the planets were aligned or something. It just clicked. All you smokers, don’t give up. Keep trying to quit! And kids, never start. NEVER. If your friends offer you a cigarette, poke them in the eye and call them baby. :)

Simply Poetic!

Ah the good ol days…

by Slack, on August 27th, 2003

Hilarious ad I found on the internet. Brought back some pretty good memories…

TRS-80

Here’s an excerpt from the ad:
This high-performance computer includes a 16K ROM Extended BASIC with advanced graphics, eight brilliant colors, and sound for an unprecedented low price! You can draw fine lines, circles, rectangles, boxes and more with easy-to-use one line commands… …loaded with the dynamic features a serious programmer demands.

WOW! EIGHT colors, rectangles, and BOXES!! Those were the days.

What did I learn today?

by Slack, on August 26th, 2003

So, real quick before bed, here’s what I learned today:

1. It’s true what they say about building a better idiot… I talked to him today. The mental void was draining…

2. 80% of drivers need to be kicked in the mouth. I’d say they need to be shot, but one of the “better idiots” might think I were being literal. Oh, and if you don’t agree with that “80%” statement, then I’m afraid it’s a damn good chance you’re part of that select group of smacktards clogging up the roadways.

3. A cheeseburger and a root beer float make for an awesome lunch! :)

My Groove Thang

by Slack, on August 25th, 2003

All things considered, the last two days have been relatively satisfying. I feel like I’ve accomplished many things. This is quite the contrast from my usual outlook via the mud-colored glasses. The glass is definitely half full at this point. The trick will be find out what it’s half full of. :)

Yay for me and 14 days as a non-smoker! This has been the easiest time I’ve had with it so far. I’m using just the inhaler. No patches this time — my delicate skin can’t take that shit again. Tho I do miss the dreams. Speaking of dreams, I had quite the interesting one last night. My snowboarding mentor and I were on a trek to the “Spirit Trail”. This was touted to be a 7 mile long run in some mysterious mountain range. Needless to say, when I woke this morning, I was quite upset that I wasn’t “actually” strapping on a snowboard! I think I’m jonesing for some snow!

Funny as Hell!

Ok, I just had to post this one — thanks to the good folks at SmilePop. I’m still laughing! I could be I’m just really really tired, tho too…
