Slack’s Place

A real-time account of life among the Earthlings…

This just in!

by Slack, on December 22nd, 2003

We just found out that Leilani may have her vent removed tomorrow or the next day. She was breathing on her own quite well, so soon it will be time to give it a try without the training wheels. That’s my girl! :)

In other news, Rhys did not take to the central line. There were two attempts made to put it in, and each time his stats dropped out. They will have to try again later.

Just like in the womb, Rhys just wants to be left alone, and Leilani wants to dance a jig! ;)

Cyn & Drew says:

Well, that’s about the best news I’ve heard all day. You go, Leilani! Rhys just isn’t ready for the central line, yet. He’ll get there…when he’s ready. :) Get some rest guys. Talk to you tomorrow. We love all four of you!

Mom says:

What wonderful news to wake up to! So happy to see the four of you yesterday, especially my grandchildren for the first time. They are precious and I pray that they continue to do well. You all take care and hope we can get together before the new year.

Much love,

Mom

Greg says:

Hey that is great news. Also congratulations on Daddyhood and Mommyhood. I wish I could be there to give you a big hug. We will see you this weekend though. Thank you for keeping us in the loop by updating the site. We have been checking it two and three times a day.

JESSICA says:

MUCH LOVE TO MY BESTEST PAL HEIDI AND HER WONDERFUL HUSBAND ALLEN. THOSE BABIES ARE GOING TO PROVIDE YEARS OF JOY AND GOOD TIMES FOR YOU TWO, AND I CAN’T THINK OF ANYONE MORE DESERVING OF SUCH A BLESSING. I LOVE YOU ALL AND HOPE TO BE ABLE TO SEE YOU SOON – I WILL CALL THIS WEEK. THANKS FOR GIVING US ALL THE ABILITY TO SHARE IN YOUR JOY THROUGH THIS WEBPAGE (ALTHOUGH I WAS UPSET TO SEE NO MENTION OF ME ANYWHERE) ;) I AM PRAYING TO MOTHER EARTH FOR YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY. LOVE JESS

Slack says:

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, Leilani did not get her vent out as we had hoped. I think it was just wishful thinking on the part of a nurse… I’m kind of releived that it didn’t happen. I’m still stressing about Rhys’ chest tube being removed.. :(

Jess! You know you go without mentioning! Such a powerful force in our life needs no introduction! ;)
