Thank you Penn & Teller…

by Slack, on October 27th, 2004

Have you seen Penn & Teller’s Bullshit? If not, you must… Unless you are a mindless idiot who is content with following a nameless, faceless sheep herder, I think Bullshit would be something you would enjoy. Otherwise you should cover your eyes and ears and continue to believe the random BS that these freaks are feeding to your face. :) I mean, my god there is such truth to the saying “there is one born everyday!” ::bash::

Class is Done…

by Slack, on October 22nd, 2004

Class is finally done. All in all it was a great class. I sure wouldn’t have paid what Spacely paid for it, though. At least not to send *me* to it. I am glad I went however, as it gave me a bit of encouragement towards the test. If that class was meant to prep someone for the 70-270 test, then I should be fine. We’ll see however, as logic is often a scarce trait in the Microsoft world… I’ll be taking my practice test here soon, and will update with the results. If I can take the practice test and score 90% or above on all sections, then I can bring that into my real test and the testing facility will pick up the cost of my passing test if I were to fail beforehand. So, basically, if I fail once and then pass, I only pay for one test. That’s a bit of a relief for me. :)

Our teacher, as I said before was quite good. My only problem with the course was the subject matter. It was (1) Microsoft and (2) not advanced enough to keep me awake. The problem I have with the tests is the terminology that Microsoft uses, and their “Best Practices” which often aren’t practical in the real world – go figure. Anyway, once I pass this friggin test, that should make it that I can get promoted at Spacely, and get a pay raise out of it. More importantly, it will free me to use my spare time towards the Open Source realm…

We shall see…

First Day of Class

by Slack, on October 18th, 2004

Today was my first day going to class… We all know how much I love going to class. ;) What made it special was I had to flip onto a day shift for it. Not the worst thing in the world, but still a bit difficult. I’m learning about the wonders of Windows XP Pro. It’s exciting, let me tell ya! ::roll::

My teacher is the same teacher who bestowed upon me the wonders of Windows 2000. This is a good thing ::thumbup:: because he makes the class at least semi interesting.

I went back to the salon again, and allowed Ms. Naomi color more of my hair… Well, it’s really colored now. :D A bit more than I had hoped for, but it’s growing on me! hahah Get it? Growing on me! Anyway, it looks ok I think, and I think Heidi is beginning to like it. I don’t know why I’m putting myself through this, but it’s fun and it’s a change. Changing stuff like that helps me stay focused on not smoking… I know, strange… But, it helps me to quit smoking if I have another big change in my life to mark the occasion.

In other news, I snapped a picture of the little one. He was sleeping here next to me in the office. It’s neat to see some of my own habits come out in him. I tell ya, there’s nothing quite like looking into the eyes of your child. Look at him! He sleeps just like daddy does!!! hahaha

Our Little Pumpkin

by Slack, on October 17th, 2004

So, Lola and Heidi decided to dress up the little monster as a pumpkin… Yep… As a pumpkin.

Heidi and the Pumpkin

He looks pretty cute, no doubt. :) I always wondered if we would be the crazy parents who dressed up their children in wacko outfits even tho the kid isn’t really getting much from it. :) I guess we are.

Another snap we got of him is absolutely hysterical… At least to his parents — more specifically his geek of a father. :) In this picture Rhys is clearly trying to use the Jedi Mindtrick to get candy or some such treat. :D

Jedi Rhys

I’ve taught him well. And as long as Lola is holding him, I’m sure the Jedi Mindtrick works everytime! :)

In other news, I’m starting to get used to this backend software, and the theme engine is starting to sink in. But, I will have no time for it coming up right now, since I will be in class all next week learning crap for my MCP Certification. I have to get it by the end of the year, lest I be labeled “Slacker” and flogged with a wet noodle by my Corporate Masters.

Well, back to work for this slave. Take care out there! ::thumbup::

Upgrades… Upgrades… Upgrades…

by Slack, on October 14th, 2004

Ok, so the site backend software was upgraded to a CVS version in order to allow annonymous users to leave comments using their name! ::rock:: So, if you are not fond of leaving your info with me in an account and/or don’t want to have an account or go to the trouble, then no need to worry. :) It’s all good…

Now, I need to learn how to skin this damn software, and I will be well on my way to getting my site back. :)

In other news: Rhys got pictures today and I will be posting them up soon as we get them developed. Professional like pictures… Yep. lol

Ok, that’s it, I’m goin to bed. Take care out there!
