Back on Track
by Slack, on October 30th, 2006
So, it’s Monday, and I have a slightly renewed spirit to get shit back on track. This past week did not serve as a nice break, although it was a change in the routine which is welcome. I did have plenty of time to think and not worry about work. But, now that I’m back here in reality again, it’s time to tighten my belt and start building the future.
In case you guys out there haven’t heard, Spacely decided to do some lay offs. I was caught in the crosshairs this time. I’m not really going to go on and on about how I feel about it. Just wanted to update family and friends on the news if I had failed to as of yet in person. So, I’m looking for a new corporate master to toil away for now. If you know of any, let me know.
A big part of me wants out of this industry. However, I know that is easier said than done, and the reality will likely be me getting another job as a corporate soldier while I make moves to exit the industry into something that would make me happier. I still hold on to the belief that one day I will be able to say with 100% certainty that I LOVE my job. One day… For now, that will remain one of my long term goals.
In addition to that, I need to get my diet back on track. YAY! So, this week, I’m starting the exercise train and going to do my damndest to stick to it. Did I mention I’m STARVING? I figure I can shortly after that quit smoking again, as smoking tends to become a really unwelcome habit when you are exercising.
So, wish me luck. I will need it. Cheers, to Life 2.0!
I have all kinds of respect for you. I’ve tried the diet thing a few times and I have the willpower of a mob snitch. Good on ya!
Yeah, that about sums up my willpower as well… Last night I hit the candy dish pretty hard… Up one pound this mornin.. Booo…
