I wrote briefly about this a few days back and decided I wanted to expound on it. Recently I decided to step back into the realm of online poker. I love online games, and since my budget is prohibiting online MMOs, and my recently fried video card is also making high end games a challenge, I thought I’d try my hand at poker again. Besides, I had $50 just sittin in there waiting to be played.

So, I logged into my place of choice Poker Room and found a notice posted there about how they will stop taking US bets on November 5th I think was the date. Seems, W decided to sign a bill into law that prohibits online games of chance for real money. This apparently was snuck past the general public under a bill whose main topic was port security. I’d encourage you to sign up for updates, and even more so encourage you to contact your Congressman to tell them just how displeased you are with this.
