Where Am I, Now?

by Slack, on December 26th, 2006

So, where am I now?

The new job is AWESOME! I wont go into much detail about it here, but it’s frikken awesome! :)

I’ve been stuck playing Medieval 2:Total War. If you don’t already have it, get it! The game is … well… Awesome!

Unfortunately, the reigning theme isn’t awesome tho. I’ve got a nice holiday cold or something working its way through my system right now. I feel like complete crap, and I have no sick/vacation time racked up at Cogswell’s. :( Just gotta power through it. YAY! Which is also why I’m not gonna write much of anything here right now… Blarf… Have a happy one, gang!

Organic Free Range Chicken Broth

by Slack, on December 4th, 2006

Ok, I just had to share this post on Dooce. Maybe I need more sleep. Maybe my sense of humor is off (ok, it definitely is). Or maybe they’re pumping nitrous oxide into my office again…

Organic Free Range Chicken Broth — ok, if you can say that without giggling, you might be a hippy.

South Korea Smacks Microsoft

by Slack, on December 1st, 2006

So, I stumbled across a very pleasing article today on Slashdot. The headline read Microsoft Loses South Korea Patent Ruling. The gist of it, from what I’ve gathered is Microsoft used technology that switches between an English input system and a Korea system. It’s nice to see someone standing up to Microsoft. It always brings a smile to my face. :)

From the article:

Technology firm P&IB, which sued Microsoft on behalf of Professor Lee, wants Microsoft to ante up to the tune of W70 billion ($75 million) in a separate lawsuit covering damages. ‘Microsoft adapted our technologies to its Office package without dealing with Prof. Lee and it claimed the patents were not effective in the court,’ P&IB President Kim Kil-hae told The Korea Times.
