Joel’s Show’s Site Redesign is Done
by Slack, on September 21st, 2008
I got the redesign for the Joel Gaines Show done (http://www.joelgainesshow.com). Now I can move on to finishing my Authentication Class. During the redesign I made a PHP class for custom borders. I will post it at House Trevethan for anyone who wants to use it.
Tomorrow begins a new week! I hope everyone’s week goes well! See you on the other side!
PS: If you own a small business (or a large one) or know anyone who does and who might be interested in advertising on a political talk show, please let us know by writing to marketing@joelgainesshow.com. THANKS!
Should read –
PS: If you own a small business (or a large one) & ARE REPUBLICAN, or know anyone who does and who might be interested in advertising on a political talk show, please let us know by writing to marketing@joelgainesshow.com. THANKS!
Why is that? Ever listen to a whole show?
As a matter of fact, I just listened to the last one, so yes. I watched the debates as well so I could capture quotes ;)
So, Since we are talking ABOUT me, I thought I should have a wee bit of input.
The days of classifying a guy as Democrat and Republican, and that meaning anything, are over. We have republicans in the House who vote more along liberal lines than do many Democrats. We have Democrats in the House and Senate who are more Conservative than a lot of Republicans.
I am a Conservative – I happen to have reached that point in this journey and decided that the Republican party best suites MY view on policy.
I encourage anyone who thinks I am a fan of McCain to go to nopunditintended.com and search for McCain. You could also listen to any 3 or 4 shows at joelgainesshow.com and you will understand where I stand on this.
But for the lazy, I will provide a brief:
John McCain will not pass any political purity test with Conservatives. He is too “Mavericky” and has gone against his own party on a number of important issues. However, we know where he stands. He has a record that he cannot escape and has made very clear policy statements, comparatively speaking.
Sarah Palin is not being invested in by Conservatives because of her experience. She is being embraced because of her substance and the fact that she takes action based upon a very easy to understand set of principles. There is a clear record of those actions. She will either be the first agent of change in Washington since the Republicans suported Blacks in Congress or she will become part of the system. No one knows which will happen – we’ll have to see.
Then I look at Senator Obama – he has gotten a pass by the media in 90% of the cases he has been before them. He is not asked the scathing questions about his personal life, the lives of his daughters, or his wife that McCain and Palin have endured. The only commentary about his life is based upon items of PUBLIC record. No one has sent 35 lawyers to his home town to find out if he might have done something we don’t know about.
Senator Obama has not given us a single memorable speech. He has not crafted a single piece of legislation – although he has ammended a couple and has co-sponsored a couple that were worked on by others. He has not co-sponsored any bills where his office was the major contributor and have that bill become law. Senator Obama has not, until very recently, dealt with any foreign policy issues or met with any major foreign leaders. He was virtually ignored by his own party in this economic crisis legislation discussion. So, it is clear that he is not a statesman, not a legislator of note, nor is he a respected mentor in his party.
Senator Joe Biden has been passed over by the American people twice in a bid for Presidency. No one is excited by the prospect of the “Change” candidate bringing in a 25 year veteran of the Senate. As a foreign policy wonk, Senator Biden was almost made persona non grata by the government of Iraq for wanting to segment that country along racial and religious lines – criteria that would get anyone sued in this country and is unconstitutional under the 14th ammendment. So you have a VP candidate who might be outlawed from entering a country where we have soldiers in the field. Nice.
The foundation for my decisions on who I support is easily described as such: I believe in certain absolutes. I have a clear picture – for myself – on what is right and wrong. I support politicians who fit into MY mold of policy. The choices before us are John McCain are Barack Obama. Neither is perfect, but Barack Obama is vastly LESS perfect as I see it. No one else’s opinion on how I see things really matters to me.
