Old School Gaming
by Slack, on November 13th, 2006
If you’re anything like me, you grew up around console games and old computer games. You know, back when games truly had some magic about them. Not to be a crotchety old fart, but games today just can’t hold their water like their old school cousins can. Are you lookin’ to relive some of those old memories? If so, read on. I’m gonna show you how!
You got a Media Center? If you do, you’re going to love this! If not, you can still have some old time fun, but you won’t have the integrated nicety-bling of makin this stuff work on your Media Center. Take a moment to peruse GameEx. This, my friends is every 80’s & 90’s gamer geek’s dream. For you 80’s kids, just imagine being about walk into the local arcade with an endless supply of quarters! OMG, heaven! And, for you 90’s geeks, imagine having all your gaming consoles in one setup, with no cartridges and only one controller to use on all the consoles. It’s pure heaven I tell ya!
If you are using Media Center and you install GameEx, you’ve got a pretty easy road ahead of you. It pretty much does everything for you — everything except download your games for you. If you have to setup the emulators by hand, it’s really not that hard. Any self-respecting gamer geek can make it work.
Let me finish this post off by saying, it is illegal to have roms for games you don’t own. God knows I own all the games I play, so do the right thing and buy the game if you end up playing it. Lastly, here’s a couple links for you:
PS: Don’t ask me for ROMs, I don’t share.
