A real-time account of life among the Earthlings…

Mexico is on the Horizon

by Slack, on July 25th, 2007

The candle burneth at both ends, and I’m about out of wax… There are just not enough hours in the day, and not enough go go juice for me to do everything I want to do. I know, I’m the *ONLY* one with this problem. Hey, Jason, this is when you click on Post A Comment and tell me to stop bitching. :)

Friday begins vacation in Mexico. Just a small weekend trip; our standard fare with Drew and Cyn. A good, quick Rocky Point Recharge is just what the doctor ordered. So, big thanks to Lola for watching the little man and letting Heidi and I have some adult time! It’s a godsend.

To update any of you who are curious, life in the Southwestern Arizona Desert is about the same as it has been for awhile. Lots and lots of work. Tons of irons in the fire, and we’re just waiting to see which one heats up. The Monsoon has finally hit, and it’s hitting pretty hard. We had ten power poles blow down by our house the other day, and took the grid down for most of the day. Fun times.

In other news, rumors have it there was a shooting a couple houses down from us. Yep, a shooting… YAY SLUMS! We’ll find out more at the neighborhood meeting since the local news didn’t seem to care about the story. All I know is half the block was taped off for most of the morning a few weeks ago, and there was what looked to me like a forensics van out there. Makes me glad I purchased that Springfield Armory “alarm system”.

Pat says:

Have a blast in Mexico! I wish we were closer so we could share “the little man” with your mom!!

Slack says:

We do too! The more grandparents, the better! :)
