We Miss You Mexico…
by Slack, on July 30th, 2007
Sun, sand, beer, rum, dancing (well, other people danced), and just relaxing in general. Yes, this weekend was fabulous!
We began the morning by dropping the little man off with Lola. What a mixed emotion that is. You are glad to get away from the kid and take a break, but the second you start driving away, you miss him terribly… Uggh..
Then it was off to Frank’s new house to rally the troops before we assault the border. It was a good group of folk this time. We were minus Kevin because he’s a Mexico hater. :-P That’s ok, by the end of the trip I think Heidi was agreeing with him.
So, we assault the border, after the token hot dog in Why of course. The hot dog was fantabulous, btw. It tasted even better after that long ass trip to Why. We were lucky enough to get caught behind to mobile homes being taken to their new homesite in Why… We caught up with them not far from Tucson. Oh my god, good times. We built up quite the caravan while traveling at the blazing speed of about 32 MPH. Oh well, people gotta live I suppose.
The trip to the Princessa is pretty uneventful. We get there, and our rooms are not ready yet… JOY! So, we head over to a family friend of one of our companion’s house (that’s a mouthful). We sit and visit and take in some beers. Talking with this guy (I think his name was Charlie) piqued my interest in Mexican Real-Estate. The only problem is the whole “You Don’t Own the Land” issue… Oh well, cross that bridge when I actually get enough money to play with.
So, our stay at the Princessa was grand. The group was great! We all had a blast. Playa wasn’t a sardine can for once which was nice. Seems there must be a new party crowd hang out now. I’m perfectly fine with that. Though the drinks at Playa still suck ass apparently. They are effective, but not tasty… I tried to explain to the girls that you drink those for the effect, not the taste… Sheesh! Amateurs…
Our trip back to Tucson was eventful, unfortunately. I was lucky enough to be pulled over by the Mexican police. No seatbelt… In a nutshell, the cop was picking on whitey for a bribe. So, we drove home $20 poorer, but the experience was not pleasant for Heidi. Hopefully, it won’t keep her from going back there… Admittedly, it was an unpleasant experience for me as well. As I pondered what Mexican jail would be like…
Oh, well, no harm done, and we are planning a trip for Sept. - Oct. YAY! Chat at you guys later. :)
