Dad Seems to be Doing Fine

Well, the new medication my father is on seems to be working all right for him. He is going in for a blood test today to check his levels, and hopefully all will look fine. He is still exhibiting some of the symptoms of his MG, but it is much better than a couple weeks ago.

The Jag!

Well, Heidi got her Jaguar last week and she is happy about it. We took it for a ride last weekend to look at some new houses, and it did very well. There are some problems with it which really need to be fixed, so we are taking it to the shop today. I hope she has much better luck with it than I did with my Vette.

The Mines

I am still working the same ol job. I dig it, as I am working for a history making company, but as with any job it gets tiring after awhile. I think I just need a good vacation. Soon I should be able to get a good vacation going. If all goes well, then I have approximately 341 days to go! :) woo hoo!

We are still getting a run around from the company (I don’t want to mention the name of the company is Greyrock aka: ProRock because I would hate it if their business suffered) we hired to landscape our yard. I am about sick of all of this. If it doesn’t kill you, it only makes you pissed I always say. Bastards. Their stance on this is they want cost (their version of “cost” is much more than what I had figured), and of course I don’t have the time or energy to argue if this is what they decide. I am so pissed about this right now, all I can see is red. To top it all off, my dumbass neighbors are pissed about this whole thing and fail to understand the situation. Something, I might add, that ALL my other neighbors had no problem with. So, I was thinking of sticking a big yellow sign in my front yard which says, “I live next to Stupid” and have an arrow pointing to them. Heidi and I thought it would be nice that two bible-thumpers moved in next to us. The good book, after all, calls for tolerance (doesn’t it?). But, alas, turns out they are Christian… :) Can’t win em all. :)

The dogs are fine, but we haven’t had much time lately to spend with them. I feel bad, but all in all they really have it pretty good. :) Once we get to Show Low, we can ALL be happy. The cats are fine, but I can tell they would like to go outside once in awhile. But, there are too many freaks out there (see above paragraph about my neighbors), and in Show Low there is too much wildlife.. Oh well, they will have to make do. HEY! I didn’t pick their rung on the food chain! Don’t cry to me!

Well, that’s the news, and now I’m gonna go dive into a bottle of scotch.

Dad Back in the Hospital

Sunday morning found my father back in the hospital after have some slight breathing difficulties. He had just recently started a new medicine for his Myasthenia Gravis, and suspects this may have caused the problems. The doctor requested he stay in the hospital overnight for observation, rather than radically changing his treatment. More to come as news develops…

Jaguar XJ6 Vander Plas

Heidi finally may have her dream car. It’s a bit older than she originally dreamed, but hey, we aren’t made of money! :) It’s a 1989 Jag Vander Plas, and is very nice. We checked it against blue book to find the price is $500 above, but a subsequent check with the bank’s blue book puts it at $600 under blue book price… So, who knows.. Close enough for us. We are waiting on the check from the bank to pay for the car, but other than that it is as good as her’s. The only problems it has right now are an ABS failure (brakes work fine however), and headlamp bulb failure. So, needless to say, it goes into the shop right when she gets it. Ugh… The good thing though, is my brother in law, David, works on BMWs and Jags for a living, so that ought to save us some grief/money.

In Other News

We are finally taking some initiative to get our life on track. Too many months spent whining about how difficult things are in our life, and too little time spent actually fixing things. We just had our carpets cleaned, and the difference is NIGHT AND DAY! We thought the trials of puppy-potty-training would be forever stained on our floors, but Stanley Steamer managed to get it out. Next on the list, is to tame that rainforest of a front yard we have. That will cost a pretty penny, but will be well worth it in the long run.

The Corvette is actually doing real nice since the last time I had it worked on, however, my fan switch is acting kinda funny, so the horizon looks grim. :) Let’s hope I don’t find myself in the garage again. Ugh.. At least this time I think I have found a good mechanic to work on the car.

This Just In!!!

Dad was released from the hospital. Apparently they have prescribed a new medicine to help counteract the effects of the prednisone he is currently on. They have taken some blood work to determine wether there was a failure in his muscles or not. More as things develop. Wish him well at ptreveth@aol.com!
