Took My Boy to School

by Slack, on August 21st, 2009

So, I got to take my son to school for the first time today. Well, the first time for his Kinder years. He was trying to be so brave, and almost made it, till I had him come give me a hug. He broke down and started crying. He quickly recovered once I reminded him that he was supposed to be a brave soldier. LOL

It was great to go see him there… a big boy… all grown up… … :( Where did my little boy go!? :( I feel really bad for him because I know it must be so overwhelming to him. He doesn’t understand all the good this is doing for his character, etc. Ehh, by the end of the day he’s forgotten the trauma of the morning so it’s all good. I feel really bad for Heidi though. Having to go through that every morning… well, not every morning, but you know. It’s tough to watch your son feel so scared and nervous and not rescue him…

I can’t wait to go pick him up at the end of the day! :)

Kid Kazoo

Ok gang. My project is ready for people to begin submitting links! The link display should go live next week, but in the meantime we are looking to get a nice collection of kid and parent appropriate links. We’re hoping to build a link aggregation community that caters to kids and parents. It’s something we searched for as new parents, and I’d be willing to bet we are not the only ones. So, if you want to help out in this “Alpha” stage, head over to the Registration page and start submitting links! Both Heidi and I would REALLY appreciate it, and as an Alpha user you’ll have full access to everything even if we start charging for premium content… Though I don’t envision charging for anything.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give us! We also appreciate any comments, or suggestions too! Send em to bothofus@slacksplace.com!

Cheers!

Gotta Love Kids

My 3 year old son talked to me tonight about what he wants to do to his computer… Here’s how the conversation went:

Rhys: Daddy… Dad… Daddy… DAAAAD!

Me: WHAT!?

Rhys: So, I’m gonna build my computer!

Me (beaming with pride): Awww. Right on, boy! That’s great!

Rhys: Yeah! Just like you! First I’m going to install Windows! And then….

Me (pride has been replaced with disappointment): WHAT!? Dude! You don’t want to install Windows! You want Linux! It’s much better.

Rhys: No, I’m going to install Windows… And then I’m gonna….

Me: Dude!! Trust me! You want Linux on your computer! Not Windows!

Rhys: NO! I’m going to install windows!! And then, I’m going to install doors… And then…. blah blah blah.
